Andreyev Lawyers second quarterly update 2023

It is hard to believe that a quarter has passed since we last shared a firm-wide update with you. The end of the last financial year came and went in a flash, and we are settling into the start of the new financial year with fresh minds and optimism about the year to come.
Without further ado, here are some of the highlights and updates for the last quarter:

Knowledge is power, and sharing is caring!

For a long time, lawyers have been considered (and certainly in some cases have acted like) the ‘gatekeepers’ of certain information and knowledge in society. In the digital age, access to legal knowledge and information is easier than ever and we love being part of a culture of sharing and collaboration. We believe strongly in making justice accessible to as many people in the community as possible, and we consider it a privilege to contribute our knowledge and ideas to the public domain. It turns out that knowledge sharing in the modern age is pretty fun too!

Read on to hear about what we’ve been getting up to.

We were recently invited back to Kangaroo Island to present our popular Strategic Succession seminar for locals on the Island. AleinaCatherineDimitri and Kasia from our office braved the blustery winter weather (and in some cases, the ferry!) to share our knowledge about how farmers and business owners on Kangaroo Island can get their succession planning in order, taking into account the unique issues that modern farming and business families face.

We really enjoyed meeting some new faces and hearing the stories of the families and business owners. Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to KI if we didn’t stop at the Honey Farm, take the opportunity to skid down the sand dunes or embrace a selfie-op with our shiny new sign at Parndana Bowls Club. You can check out some of the trip highlights over on our Instagram page!

You may have heard whispers that we were filming our latest top-secret project… well the rumours were right and we are pleased to announce the launch of our new Employment Law Video Series on our Youtube channel. Join our knowledgeable lawyers as they answer some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about all things employment law. Are there any burning questions you’d like answered? Email them through to us and we’re happy to share our thoughts.

As you can imagine, we have a lot to say about various legal topics and concepts. Sometimes everything we want to say can’t quite fit into a single blog post – so instead of fighting it, we’ve leaned in to letting our creative juices flow and published our longer-form content into booklets. Our existing booklets on ‘What to do when someone dies’ and ‘Controlling a family trust when you die’ have recently had a face-lift and we have recently launched our newest booklet on Private Ancillary Funds. If you’d like a hard copy of any of these booklets, you’re in luck – we’ve recently had our booklets printed and they are hot off the presses and ready to be posted to you or picked up at your convenience. If you would like one or more copies of any of our booklets, send an email to our friendly marketing team at marketing@adlvlaw.com.au and we will be happy to send you as many as you like.

Andreyev Lawyers on the socials: so, you’ve met our team. Now what?

Last quarter we shared that we have re-launched Instagram account. Dedicated followers have had an opportunity to get to know the ‘people’ behind the ‘lawyers’ and have first-hand insight into what makes our team tick through our very popular ‘Meet the Team’ series.

Want to get your hands on more content? Well luckily for you, the AL Socials team doesn’t rest, and they have been putting together our latest series ‘Desk Q&As’. Each week we’ll be posting a short Q&A video with team members who are brave enough to answer a ‘no-context’ question, live on camera. The topics cover anything and everything from life at Andreyev Lawyers, workplace experiences and tricks and traps that may surprise you. We’d love to hear your thoughts about our latest videos. If you have a specific question for one of our team members, email us the details and you may find your Q&A featured on our page.

But wait – there’s more! We are also continuing our ever-popular ‘Day in the life’ series and this time, our BusOps Team (known fondly as our ‘BOTs’) are the stars of the show. Ever wondered how we keep the wheels turning and the lights switched on at our offices? Well, much of the credit is due to our BusOps Team who ensure that our firm operates like a well-oiled machine in tip-top shape! Check out our latest ‘Day in the Life’ video here.

We’re looking forward to bringing you more insightful content over the next quarter and we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoy making it.

Even more fresh content on our blog

As always, there is plenty of fresh and informative content being uploaded regularly to our blog.

Dedicated ‘rant’ readers may enjoy the latest think pieces from Andrew titled ‘How ‘diverse’ are you, really?’ and ‘Two phrases you should never use in your negotiations’.

If legal commentary and updates are more your speed, check out our recent articles that cover all kinds of topics, ranging from what happens to a family pet in the event of a relationship breakdown, a stark warning about online Wills and what to do if you are an executive that finds themselves facing redundancy

As always, there is something for everyone on our website and we’d love to hear your thoughts on our latest posts.

If you love our content and want more, we are continuing to regularly feature some of our popular blog posts over on our LinkedIn page.

Celebrating our team

Last quarter, we celebrated the admission of Nick Stevens, who is now one of our graduate solicitors. Next up are Lucy Bowler and Edward De Luca who are due to be admitted in the next couple of months.

In celebrations of another kind, this week we wished Maryke all the best as she takes some time off to welcome the latest addition to her family. We’re all looking forward to a visit and a cuddle soon!

Until next time

We couldn’t bee prouder of what we’ve achieved so far this year, and we’re excited to see where the new financial year takes us. Thanks for reading along and we hope you’ve enjoyed our updates as much as we’ve enjoyed sharing them with you. We’re looking forward to sharing some more updates in a couple of months’ time.

Until then,

From the team at Andreyev Lawyers

Our Great Lawyer Guarantee

We want to be part of your team over the long term. We'll achieve this by sticking closely to the following principles:

  • We'll listen carefully to understand what you want to achieve. Then we'll thoroughly explain our advice and step you through the documents. You can be sure you'll know the full consequences.
  • Our lawyers work as a team, so someone will always be available to answer your questions, or point you in the right direction. You will also benefit from a range of perspectives and experience.
  • One of our key goals is to pass on as much knowledge as we can, so you can make your own informed decisions. We want to make you truly independent.
  • We only do what we're good at. You can be confident that we know what we're doing and won't pass on the cost of our learning.
  • For advice and documents, we provide a fixed or capped quote so you don’t take price risk. If you're in a dispute, we'll map out the process and costs so you know what to expect.
  • We're not in this game for our egos. We're in it for a front row seat to witness your success.

We measure our success on how efficiently we have facilitated your objectives, enhanced your relationships, and reduced the level of stress for all involved.

If we sound like people you can work with, call us now on 1300 654 590 and speak directly with a great lawyer.

Breaking the law en masse is not innovative or disruptive. It’s cheating.

Breaking the law en masse is not innovative or disruptive. It’s cheating.

If you had sat me down 5-10 years ago and asked me the top 5 things I would like to change about the taxi industry, within about 20 minutes of brainstorming I would have nailed all 5 of the ‘innovations’ that Uber has implemented. It’s all the rage to bag Uber right now, and that is not my point. I am bagging the people who think that Uber was innovative, or disruptive. Uber, as a business model, was simply to break the law en masse. Plain and simple.
