2025 – A year in review

As our team returns to office after a relaxing break to cap off 2025, we are taking a moment to look back on a bzzzzy and rewarding year for our team.

After a turbulent few years, many of us have craved the comfort and peace of stability and quietness. There were moments in 2025 when it felt like the dark clouds had parted to make way for clarity, creativity and fresh perspectives. With this in mind, it’s no surprise to us that the Pantone colour of the year for 2026 is ‘Cloud Dancer’. Cloud Dancer is a discrete white hue that represents a refreshed and modern way of thinking, making way for imagination and colourful ideas to come to the fore. In a quote given to ABC News Australia, Australia’s Colour Analysis Studio said, “Cloud Dancer is a delicate hue that stands in quiet defiance of the noisy, chaotic modern world, offering a message of calm and airiness”.

in 2025, we embraced clarity and calm. Call us early adopters! This approach has led to new and exciting opportunities, and there were plenty to celebrate. Topping our list of highlights for 2025 are the growth of our team, several learning and knowledge sharing opportunities, and our team achievements.

Without further ado, here’s a snapshot of what the ADLV Law team got up to in 2025.

Celebrating community and connection

We kicked off the year by relocating our Sydney office to the heart of the CBD. Refreshing our environment in both Sydney and Adelaide in the last 18 months has given us the perfect backdrop for collaboration and hosting events that bring our community together. For those of you that haven’t had a chance to check out our new digs, we’d love to see you in 2026!

We didn’t waste any time this year and jumped straight into opening our doors to clients, partners, and friends. It was a pleasure to host three Family Business Association events last year, two Women on Boards directors lunches and a standout Small Business Week event with ABRT.  These gatherings gave us the chance to celebrate achievements, exchange ideas, and strengthen relationships within the local and business communities.

Sharing knowledge and leading conversations

2025 was all about sharing insights far and wide. Our team delivered seminars to CPA Accountant groups on hot topics like Division 7A, trusts, and estate taxation and we also presented a multi-part series on estate taxation to the City of Sydney Law Society.

The opportunities didn’t stop there – we were invited to feature in a Leapsheep live webinar on startup founders, presented our final Family and Small Business Workshops on Governance and Legal Considerations, and hosted seminars for Family Business Association advisors and forum participants about employment law challenges for family businesses and the importance of shareholders agreements. We even had an article featured in the Law Society of South Australia Bulletin on why due diligence in mergers and acquisitions is not just a box ticking exercise.

This year, we are very excited to officially launch a brand-new publication that we hope will serve as a critical guide to one of the biggest transactions that many of our clients will face in their lives. More to come – watch this space!

Recognition and accolades

Last year, we were thrilled to be recognised in Doyle’s Guide across multiple categories. ADLV Law was named a Leading Wills, Estates & Succession Planning Law Firm and a Leading Tax Law firm in South Australia. Four of our lawyers received accolades as pre-eminent lawyersrecommended lawyers and rising stars in these categories. This recognition reflects the dedication and expertise of our incredible team, but also the trust that our clients and referrers place in us. We are grateful to be recognised as leaders in these areas.

Our website was buzzing with new content all year long! Cloud dancing into 2026

When we weren’t building connections and sharing knowledge in 2025, we were also ensuring that high quality legal services and solutions were being delivered. We’ve always approached our work with the philosophy of ‘sticking to our knitting’ and this concept really resonated with us in 2025.

Clear mindsets have allowed us to be persistent, decisive and fierce in 2025. We’ve had the pleasure of guiding hundreds of clients through both exciting opportunities and unique legal challenges. Thank you to all of you that have supported us, sought our counsel, trusted us to guide you through your legal problem or even just read our articles or newsletters. We are proud to be part of our community and are grateful for your support and connection.

The team are well and truly back into the swing of things for 2026 and are ready to stand fiercely by your side through whatever the new year brings our way!

Cheers to a fantastic year ahead from all of us at ADLV Law.
